Midjourney V6/V7: still holds the aesthetic lead
For fashion, editorial and mood board work, Midjourney is still at the top. After V6 it closed its weakness in text rendering; V7 made a serious jump in prompt fidelity and detail. The most concrete change V7 brings is the ability to keep the same character consistent across different scenes. Holding a brand face or a recurring product across several frames is now possible. That solves the single biggest complaint we used to get back from the field, especially in fashion editorial and look-book work.
The use cases where we get the best results: high-contrast fashion photography, lifestyle mood boards, cinematic product scenes and editorial presentation visuals. On pricing, the Basic Plan starts at $10/month, Standard is $30/month, Pro is $60/month. The web interface is now independent of Discord, but the community and parameter support on Discord is still more mature. The limited side: it isn't as transparent on copyright as Adobe — the source of the training data hasn't been settled legally. Working with enterprise clients, that becomes a real break point in Firefly's favour.
Adobe Firefly: the commercial safety champion
What sets Firefly apart from its rivals fits in one sentence: it was trained on Adobe Stock and fully licensed content. What does that mean in practice? The copyright on every image you produce is clean — no risk of something "learned without permission" from an artist's or photographer's work. On a car brand's global campaign, or a financial institution's promotional material, that difference takes the legal team's approval from weeks to hours.
The Photoshop Generative Fill integration moved the workflow somewhere else entirely. You can generate the background, the lighting conditions or the colour palette of a studio product shot from scratch. Colour variations in Illustrator, extending a video sequence in Premiere — the whole Adobe ecosystem runs on the Firefly engine. Pricing: Firefly's own platform offers a free trial, and the advanced features inside a Creative Cloud subscription go up to $54.99/month. Where it's best: enterprise campaigns, ad agency production, packaging design, media with a legal process attached. Its weak side: pure aesthetic quality sits below Midjourney — an experienced art director sees the difference at a glance.
DALL-E 3: the tool that talks to ChatGPT
What really separates DALL-E 3 from the others is that image generation happens inside a conversation. In Midjourney you write a single prompt and wait for the result; in ChatGPT you iterate by talking — "no, warmer tone, move the product right, soften the background". That flow saves an incredible amount of time, especially when you're working with a client who hasn't fully fixed the brief in their head.
Its strengths are clear: integrating text into an image (posters, billboards, packaging headlines), building compositions for infographics and presentation slides, and putting together fast visual mockups for social content. It's the one tool where writing a Turkish brief actually works — because ChatGPT sits in the middle, it optimises the language automatically. On photorealism it stays clearly behind Midjourney; it isn't the choice for high-detail product and fashion shoots. Since it comes inside ChatGPT Plus ($20/month), it's the most accessible option for prototype and concept work.
Same brief, three tools — who wins?
Brief: "Luxury watch, on marble, side natural light, editorial". Midjourney: studio quality, reflective detail correct, 8/10. Firefly: commercially ready to use but the light is a little flat, 6.5/10. DALL-E 3: good composition but the watch detail is amorphous, 5.5/10.
For product photography: Midjourney wins — its cinematic light and material realism are unmatched. If the client says "we're putting this in an ad" and legal risk has to be zero, consider post-processing it in Firefly.
For corporate presentations: Firefly or DALL-E 3. If the visual won't go live, DALL-E 3 gives you the speed and cost advantage. If it will, Firefly is the safe harbour.
For an editorial poster: Midjourney, no argument. If you need typography and composition support, use DALL-E 3 as the final layer. When we tried the same brief as "Turkish coffee on a table, young couple in conversation", DALL-E 3 gave the closest result on cultural accuracy, Midjourney the most cinematic, Firefly the safest.
Which tool for which job?
Compiled from the scenarios we hit most often:
- Fashion editorial, look-book, mood board: Midjourney V7 — the aesthetic lead is still its.
- Enterprise campaign, legal sign-off required: Adobe Firefly — commercial safety comes first.
- Packaging and product backgrounds: Firefly Generative Fill — the Photoshop integration completes the studio shoot.
- Fast concept, internal presentation, draft brief: DALL-E 3 via ChatGPT — the conversational flow and Turkish support pay off.
- Social post, infographic, text plus image: DALL-E 3 — text integration gives the cleanest output.
- Ad testing (A/B, multiple variants): DALL-E 3 or Firefly — speed and cost take priority.
On most PAM projects all three run together — the workflow decides, not the tool.
Our 2026 selection strategy
We decide by looking at the client's sector and risk profile. Automotive, finance, luxury: Firefly-heavy — clean copyright isn't negotiable in this segment. Fashion, beauty, lifestyle: Midjourney-heavy — for mood boards and campaign visuals, aesthetic quality comes first. Cultural and localised content: DALL-E 3-heavy — the Turkish brief advantage genuinely makes a difference here.
In practice the workflow runs like this: at the brief stage we generate 20-30 concept sketches with ChatGPT plus DALL-E 3 and pick a direction with the client. We work the chosen direction aesthetically in Midjourney and lock the mood board. We produce the final campaign visuals — especially the ones going live — with a combination of Firefly and a studio shoot. This three-part workflow solves speed, quality and commercial safety at the same time. With AI it's not the single tool that matters, it's the single strategy.
Let's build this together.
Whether it's a single campaign or a year-long production partnership, we bring the same playbook that works for Cartier, Mercedes-Benz, Nike and Pierre Cardin. We mentor your team as we deliver — transparent process, documented AI decisions, no black boxes.
